On June 1, 2025, Michelin launched the X® Works Z2 & D2 for the tire size 315/80R22.5. It is about the first on and off-road band that received a B-label for rolling resistance on the steering axle.
The Michelin X® Works Z2 (steering axle) and D2 (drive shaft) are designed for vehicles that regularly switch from paved to unpaved roads. According to Michelin, the new tires combine excellent performance in the field of fuel savings and lifespan with robustness, traction and grip in various sites. The renewed tread design ensures a lower rolling resistance, better traction and less rolling sound. Moreover, Michelin promises a longer lifespan: up to 10% more for the steering axle tape and up to 25% more for the drive axle tape compared to the previous generation. From September 2025, extra sizes will also be added to the range: the 13R22.5 X® Works Z2 & D2 and the 385/65 X® Works HL Z2.
