Michelin is addressing the challenges of last-mile delivery in regional and urban areas with launch of two new products in 19.5-inch diameter sizes. Acknowledged challenges for last-mile drivers include: “heavy traffic, frequent braking manoeuvres, difficult access to certain areas”, and often “poor road conditions and changing weather conditions are pure stress”. The costs of stricter environmental regulations also put a strain on transport fleet budgets.
