Michelin has fully deployed Michelin TreadEye, a proprietary technology designed to enhance the retread process and deliver measurable value to fleets. Michelin Retread Technologies has completed a phased rollout and activated TreadEye across its U.S. franchise network.
The manufacturer said TreadEye serves as a tread depth assessment tool that helps fleets get the most from every tire. The system collects 1,200 measurement points, offering insight into tread wear and casing condition, Michelin said.
“TreadEye is a game-changer for our retread operations and for the fleets we serve,” said Nate Kirian, VP of sales and distribution, commercial business lines. “It’s a powerful example of how Michelin continues to innovate in ways that directly benefit our customers.”
Key advantages include identifying pull points by fleet location, maximizing rubber on the road, and reducing casing damage, Michelin said. It also helps fleets avoid DOT violations and minimize downtime from late pulls.
