Man Truck & Bus and the German logistics player Kentendorfer have successfully completed a four -week pilot project in which fully electric trucks drove through the Brennerpas at night. During this test, the man Etruck, in series production since June 2025, proved its value for silent, emission -free and efficient long -distance transport in the Alpine region.
Thanks to an exemption on the nocturnal driving ban on the Austrian A12, the Etrucks were able to travel the route between the German Rabling and the Italian Bolzano without interruption. This resulted in considerable benefits: an annual saving up to 95 tonnes of COâ‚‚ per vehicle, a toll saving of more than 60,000 euros and up to 40 percent energy recovery on the mountain process.
According to Man and Detendorfer, this type of night logistics can help to reduce traffic jams in Kufstein by one hour a day, to increase supply security and drastically lower the noise pollution – with less noise than a diesel truck.
With this test, MAN shows that heavy transport can not only become more sustainable but also more economically more attractive.
