During the eighth edition of the networking event ‘Where onshore meets offshore ‘ On August 28, Luc Desender, founder of Renasci, received the title ‘Having Personality of the Year’. Charlotte Verkeyn, chairman of the Ostend port, presented the prize.
With this recognition, Haven Oostende crowns the entrepreneurship and the future -oriented vision of Desender, which plays an important role in the further development of the circular industry in Ostend. Renasci converts waste into energy and raw materials, without residual waste.
Luc Desender succeeds earlier laureates, including Patrick Degryse (Group De Cloedt, 2023) and Frans Hoorelbeke (Daikin) together with Kristof Buffel & David Bruyndonckx (Toyota) in 2024.
The Network Event Where onshore meets offshore has grown into a fixed value within the offshore and port community in recent years. It brings together hundreds of professionals and emphasizes the increasing interdependence of blue economy and circular industry, two of the four niche markets on which Haven Oostende deployed.
