LogiMAT: robot ‘Carl’ delivers drinks at the Linde MH stand

Must read

At the Linde Material Handling stand at LogiMAT, the humanoid robot ‘Carl’ was literally and figuratively in the spotlight. Visitors could order a drink via a tablet, after which Carl started working autonomously.

The robot chose its own route to the shelf, recognized the correct product and delivered the bottle to the counter. Striking: Carl worked without pre-determined steps or external guidance, and made decisions independently during that process.

Carl offers a glimpse of the future of order picking, where robots not only perform repetitive tasks, but respond flexibly to variable situations. However, the technology is not yet ready for the market. Linde MH emphasizes that commercial applications will still have to wait a few years.
