The third month of 2026 begins this weekend, and we are well and truly into this year’s summer tyre test season. German motoring association ADAC has looked at 16 products in size 225/50 R17, a dimension commonly used on mid-range cars. Continuing its format of examining both driving and environmental performance, ADAC awarded three tyres a ‘good’ rating and a further ten a ‘satisfactory’ grade. None of the 16 tyres achieved the top ‘very good’ result.
