InMotion Global, developer of AscendTMS, said Feb. 20 that it has acquired LoadPilot TMS and will immediately begin migrating the software’s freight brokerage and agent customers into its cloud‑based platform.
The company said the acquisition gives LoadPilot users access to a transportation management system that leverages digital tools and artificial intelligence functions that continue to shape freight operations. LoadPilot has provided freight brokerage and freight agent software for more than two decades.
“We will provide their loyal customers with a ‘forever home’ that offers them the modern digital tools they need to stay competitive in today’s fast-changing freight environment,” InMotion Global CEO Tim Higham said of the deal. He added that customers would see “zero downtime” during the transition.
According to the company, LoadPilot users moving to AscendTMS will receive a transition package that includes access to AscendTMS Pro for 30 days at no cost, along with onboarding assistance, training and support. The company said migrating customers will have an expanded set of capabilities available, including plug‑and‑play integrations, real-time load tracking, automated accounting tools, an AI-based feature set and cross‑border tools.
LoadPilot founder and CEO Rusty Pile said the move preserves the company’s focus on customer service while shifting users to a more established software platform. “We wanted to ensure that our legacy of stellar customer service and providing first-class freight software would be preserved,” Pile said. He added that AscendTMS is “trusted, profitable, debt free and stable.”
