IMI said its FLEXX balancing solution will help tackle one of the commercial trucking industry’s most persistent service challenges — balancing 15, 16, 17, 17.5, 19, and 19.5 in. tire sizes. These smaller commercial tire sizes, common on Sprinter vans, heavy-duty pickups, and service trucks, often create difficulties for traditional balancing methods, IMI said.
Wheel assemblies in these applications typically require expensive adapters, are cumbersome to handle, and may not fit standard tire balancers. Frequent load shifts also cause recurring imbalances that lead to vibration issues, repeat service visits, and reduced customer satisfaction.
IMI said FLEXX eliminates these issues. Installed using a drop-in bag, it provides continuous, adaptive balance for the life of the tire, IMI said.

Its DUAL FORCE dual-compound formula absorbs vibrations and road forces at the footprint, maintaining consistent performance mile after mile.
“Tire dealers need dependable solutions already proven in the field,” said IMI Mid-Atlantic Territory Manager Bob Bortner. “FLEXX continues to meet that need, especially for the balancing complexities of these applications. It’s a solution that delivers results.”
Pete’s Road Service in Southern California adopted FLEXX after experiencing repeated ride quality issues with competitive bead balancing products in 17.5 and 19.5 tire applications. The switch led to fewer vibration complaints and faster, more efficient installations, according to IMI.
Beyond performance, IMI said FLEXX helps reduce technician fatigue by removing the need to lift and spin heavy wheel assemblies.
