Hunter Engineering announced that Ultimate ADAS has earned approval from Toyota and Lexus for use in their North American dealer and collision network. With these two additions, the OEM total rises to seven for Hunter’s alignment and static calibration system. The list already includes Honda, Acura, Nissan, Infiniti, and Subaru. Additional approvals are expected before the end of 2025.
“It’s been exciting to partner with Toyota Motor North America to approve this system for Toyota and Lexus dealers,” said Kaleb Silver, Hunter senior director, product management. “Toyota has been a leader in the ADAS market for many years. We have the largest number of vehicles with static calibration procedures in operation in North America.
“Ultimate ADAS gives its dealer and collision network access to the industry-leading ADAS calibration technology to service and document vehicles more efficiently.”
Hunter Ultimate ADAS
Hunter said Ultimate ADAS eliminates error-prone manual layouts often used in static ADAS calibrations. The system integrates Hunter’s alignment technology with a guided target placement system that provides complete around-the-vehicle coverage.
At the core of the process are gimbal-mounted lasers, Hunter said. These replace strings, plumb bobs, and tape measures, reducing setup time by as much as 70%. The laser gimbals and onscreen guidance improve target placement precision by compensating for uneven floors, monitoring for errors, and confirming accuracy step by step with laser verification.
Coverage Expands Across OEMs
Hunter said Ultimate ADAS also ensures thorough documentation through HunterNet 2, the company’s customer portal. Shops can confirm target placements, procedures, before-and-after measurements, and more, all in an easy-to-access format.
Now supporting dynamic and static calibration for 19 OEMs, Ultimate ADAS covers more than 7,400 static ADAS procedures. That accounts for more than 90% of vehicles in operation today.
