Hunter Engineering introduced the Road Force WalkAway wheel balancer. The manufacturer said this system can reduce door-to-door four-tire changeover times by up to 45%.
At the core of the Road Force WalkAway is the WalkAway Inflation System, the manufacturer said. The system automatically releases the inflation chuck once inflation is complete and immediately performs the balance spin.
The time saved allows technicians to handle other essential tasks during inflation, Hunter said.
“It’s shocking to see how little time and effort it takes a single technician to change a set of four tires when using Road Force WalkAway and Hunter’s Revolution tire changer,” said Greg Meyer, Hunter senior product manager, wheel balancers.
Paired with a basic tire changer, Road Force WalkAway can complete a four-tire changeover up to 29% faster, Hunter said. When combined with Hunter’s Revolution tire changer, time savings can reach 45%. In minutes, that equals about 10 minutes saved with a basic changer, 12 minutes with the Maverick changer, and 15 minutes with the Revolution changer.
Hunter added a two-piece hood that lets the balancer sit 4.5 inches closer to the wall, a hood angle sensor for smoother operation, and updated software.
The Road Force WalkAway also retains features from the Road Force Elite. It still includes the patented vision system, eCal auto-calibration, and SmartSpot laser weight placement, Hunter said.
