Heading From the Boardroom to the Shop With Wells Vehicle Electronics

Must read

Road to AAPEX is back with a new twist. In season one, we traveled from Ohio to Las Vegas on Route 66 in old Cadillac we fixed up. In season two, we hit the Lincoln Highway in a fixed-up Lincoln Blackwood. In season three, we explored how the parts were manufactured and how they hit the shelves.

This year, it’s something entirely different. We’re traveling around the country and putting executives in the aftermarket to the test. They’re going to head from the boardroom to the garage to fix up cars, using the same parts their company sells every day.

First up, we’re in Wisconsin. Wells Vehicle Electronics has been a staple of the state for a long time—the company was founded in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, in 1903. Today, the 122-year-old company is located only a short distance from where it originally started.

David Stewart, vice president of sales and marketing at Wells, is our first guinea pig for this year’s boardroom-to-garage experiment. He’s going to head to Max-Bilt Off Road & Mfg. in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, to install new ignition coils on a Jeep with an LS6.

Learn how it goes in the garage, the history of Wells and Max-Bilt, and more by watching this episode of Road to AAPEX. And keep tuning in for the next few months to Road to AAPEX as we bring you more stories like this and keep heading down the road to the aftermarket’s biggest show in November. We hope you’ll join us on the ride.
