Hankook Tire hosted Design Innovation Day 2025 on Sept. 11 at its Technoplex headquarters in Pangyo, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. The event highlighted Hankook’s advancements in mobility technology, sustainability, and design, with a focus on future tire innovation and mobility solutions.
During the event, Hankook unveiled the Sustainable Concept Tire, developed under the theme “Future Sustainability.” Made from renewable and recycled materials, the tire uses advanced 3D printing technology. The project was completed in collaboration with Harvestance, using NTop software to bring the design to life.

Hankook also revealed the WheelBot 2, a multi-directional mobility platform with tri-axial spherical tires. Building on the first-generation version created with CALMANTECH in 2022, WheelBot 2 advances robotic wheel system design. The demonstration featured the PathCruizer, a concept model powered by WheelBot 2 that explores future mobility service applications, Hankook said.
The event emphasized the role of sustainable practices in tire manufacturing and mobility technology. Hankook showcased how 3D printing and robotics could influence tire production, repair, and automotive service. While the Sustainable Concept Tire and WheelBot 2 remain concept models, Hankook said they represent potential opportunities for tire dealers to expand service offerings in tire sales, tire maintenance, and repair solutions.
The Design Innovation Project — launched in 2012 — continues to strengthen Hankook’s leadership in future mobility, it said.
