Fastport, which helps military veterans transition into the civilian workforce, has teamed up with the American Trucking Associations’ Workforce Heroes Program to open more doors for service members and veterans to pursue careers in the transportation and logistics industry.
With a growing demand for qualified truck drivers and diesel technicians, the partnership will focus on connecting veterans with in-demand, high-paying careers that offer long-term stability and advancement opportunities.
ATA developed the Workforce Heroes Program to strengthen the transportation workforce by working with government and community leaders to promote long-term career pathways.
The program especially focuses on veteran recruitment.
Together, Fastport and ATA will:
- Recruit veterans interested in becoming truck drivers or diesel technicians.
- Offer training and career development tools tailored to veterans
- Support policies that encourage veteran hiring in transportation.
“Our nation’s veterans bring unparalleled dedication, discipline, and leadership skills to the workforce,” said Bill McLennan, CEO of Fastport.
“By partnering with ATA’s Workforce Heroes Program, we are not only addressing the ongoing driver and technician shortages but also ensuring that those who have served our country have access to meaningful careers in the trucking industry.”
