Team Falken drivers win big at two major racing events, securing podiums in both the GRIDLIFE Mid-Ohio race and the OPTIMA USCA competition at Road America. Matan Rosenberg and James Houghton earned top finishes in GLTC and GLGT classes, while Bob Sobey and Brandon Hurst claimed first and second in the GTS class at Road America.
Falken Drivers Win Podiums At GRIDLIFE Mid-Ohio
Rosenberg piloted his #484 Chevrolet Corvette to a third-place overall finish. Houghton earned first overall in his Honda Civic TCR. Rain affected the course on Friday, prompting Rosenberg to use Falken Azenis FK510 tires during practice for better wet grip, Falken said.
Both drivers switched to Falken Azenis RT660+ tires for qualifying. Houghton claimed the fastest lap time in his class and the top starting position. Rosenberg battled traffic and a mistake that pushed him to 14th on the grid.
Saturday featured wet morning conditions. Team Rosenberg climbed from 14th to third in the opening race. Houghton finished second behind Aaron Leichty.
In race two, Rosenberg held his ground and finished second, Falken said. Houghton made a smart start and claimed his first victory of the weekend. Sunday’s dry track increased competition, the manufacturer said. Rosenberg won the fifth overall race, while Houghton clocked the weekend’s fastest lap, finishing second.
An inverted grid in the final race challenged the drivers. Rosenberg landed in 10th place, while Houghton surged ahead to win, securing the overall GLGT class win.
Rosenberg overtook Eric Kutil in GLTC class points, reaching 299 total.
Road America Victory For Falken In OPTIMA USCA
At Road America, Falken drivers win again as Bob Sobey and Brandon Hurst delivered strong results in the OPTIMA USCA GTS class. Sobey achieved the fastest lap in the autocross segment, with Hurst following closely.
“The Falken Azenis RT660+ tires performed flawlessly,” Hurst said. “It was great to connect with the other drivers, and we look forward to the next round.”
The next GRIDLIFE event is the Summer Apex Festival at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, from July 25–27. The OPTIMA USCA continues at Summit Point Motorsports Park in West Virginia from August 15–17.
