After the summer holidays, EUtraco will use an electric Mercedes Eactros 600 for his customer PGS Group, a specialist in the field of new and second -hand wooden pallets. The way in which the electric truck will be used shows a thorough preparation between the two companies.
This truck is part of the mega -making that Eutraco placed at Daimler Truck last year. It is used to supply the customers in the region with finished pallets from the production sites of PGS Group in Snaaskerke and Lichtervelde. On the way back, wood is always taken from the sawmill in Zulte to supply the production sites. In the first year, PGS expects to be able to do four rides every day in East and West Flanders.
“The electric ‘supply-circle’ is around that way,” says Luc Grauwet (CEO of PGS Group). “In this way we will emit 70.2 tons of C02 less annually. This test phase must provide insights into performance, loading capacity and efficiency. We want to use the e-truck smartly, learn from our own experiences and then efficiently scale.”
PGS Group rejects all allegations of Greenwashing. “The CSRD Directive requires us soon to report on our total emissions,” says Patricia Simoen (CSR Manager at PGS Group). “Small -scale internal transport – which falls under Scope 1 – is now almost completely electric with us. Together with EUtraco, we are now expanding that electrification to Scope 3, the emissions outside our direct operations, but within our influence: of suppliers, between sites and towards customers. For longer routes we also put in structural alternatives. That is why we invest in solutions that make the difference there. “
