Eurosped Belgium, located in Sint-Truiden, was declared bankrupt yesterday. The company was still not completely over the death of founder Rik Van lessons in 2018 and went through difficult times in 2022.
After the founder’s death, Eurosped was taken over by Pascal Delcour. However, since 2020 the financial situation of the company has steadily deteriorated, not so much due to poor operational profitability (except in 2024), but due to the increasingly higher financial costs. Equity was still positive in 2024, but the working capital had become considerably negative. Eurosped Belgium had already escaped bankruptcy in May 2022. Pascal Delcour had challenged and won the decision of the Hasselt Commercial Court.
In recent months, Eurosped had tried to get a stronger financial basis by selling the location in Sint-Truiden. It had also considerably reduced its own fleet, from 46 vehicles to only eight before the bankruptcy. According to the latest social report, the company had 77 employees.
