Thanks to European funding, the end-of-life tyre pyrolysis recycling plant that Thermo Lysi is establishing in Greece together with Pyrum Innovations will be twice as large as originally planned. In a decision that Pyrum Innovations calls a “historic success,” the European Innovation Fund (EIF) has approved funding for the project and will support Thermo Lysi to the tune of 29.4 million euros. Funding for the 100-million-euro facility is now entirely secured and planned capacity has grown to 45,000 tonnes of end-of-life tyres per year, making it “one of the largest and most modern pyrolysis plants in Europe.”
