The Dunlop Blue Response TG summer touring tyre for the European market has been launched at an event in Seville, Spain. With the launch, Sumitomo Rubber Industries marked the recent reorganisation of its activities in the continent under the name Dunlop Tyre Europe Gmbh, superceding its now second brand Falken Tyres as the flagship brand. The tyre is a genuine all-rounder, with well-balanced performance characteristics making it a product for everyday road users, whether they drive a combustion engine (ICE) or electric-powered vehicle (EV). The tyre will be available in 99 sizes between 15″ and 21″ rim diameters.

Markus Bögner, managing director of Dunlop Tyre Europe, said that the new summer tyre represents the “technological advancement” and “strategic innovation” that the company aims to bring to market under its Dunlop brand. He stressed that the manufacturer is introducing this “important” tyre “only one year” into Dunlop’s new era, signifying the company’s intention “to move fast” and its readiness to build.
Hiroshi Hamada, jointly MD of Sumitomo’s European subsidiary added that the company wants to harness and grow Dunlop’s residual brand value, bringing together both its tyre products and sporting goods – the brand is particularly strong in racquet sports such as tennis and padel – in order to improve consumer sentiment, particularly in terms of its tyre products.
