Driving times: Fake News blooms in August

Must read

Since a few days, ‘news’ is circulating on social media about an adjustment of driving and rest times for professional drivers. This is of course about ‘fake news’ … which, however, reigns heights on social media.

The origin of this ‘fake news’ lies in France: the website Amios.fr (which nevertheless profiles itself as an editorial staff that bears the three fundamental pillars of integrity, excellence and originality) published an article on 11 August in which it was announced that the rules for driving and rest times may change in January 2026 of the day of 2026 will be allowed to change in January 2026 from 2026) Later the same website (which of course does not mention any sources) reported that the French government decided to count the loading time in the driving time of drivers. The same information can be found on other French websites about car news, such as Bigocar.fr, but that does not make it more credible.
