DHL is celebrating for twenty years of humanitarian logistics

Must read

DHL Group celebrates the twentieth anniversary of his Gohelp program, which since 2005 offers logistical support in disasters worldwide.
The initiative emerged after the Tsunami in South Asia at the end of 2004 and grew into a structured network of volunteers that was already used by 77 disasters. In total, DHL Gohelp processed more than 70,000 tons of relief supplies, often under difficult circumstances and in close cooperation with international organizations.

The core of Gohelp are the specialized ‘Disaster Response Teams’, which are ready at affected airports within 72 hours of a disaster. Since 2009, the program has also trained airport staff through the ‘Get Airports Ready for Disaster’ initiative to be better prepared for crisis situations. This year a third pillar was added with the establishment of the ‘Academy of Humanitarian Logistics’, which focuses on training and knowledge sharing.
Over the years, Gohelp made crucial contributions to, among others, the earthquakes in Pakistan (2005) and Haiti (2010) and the global distribution of vaccines during the Corona Pandemie.
