DHL Group expands ‘cold chain’ air freight for better ‘health logistics’

Must read

DHL Group is expanding its cold chain air freight network to strengthen global logistics for temperature-sensitive healthcare products. The transport network focuses on the faster, more reliable and fully temperature-controlled transport of pharmaceutical products. It connects important hubs such as Brussels and Cincinnati, among others.

As part of the €2 billion strategic investment in DHL Health Logistics, the network provides full end-to-end visibility for customers in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. The expansion reduces dependence on third-party carriers and commercial airlines. This should improve product integrity and temperature control across the entire journey while increasing the resilience of supply chains in times of geopolitical tensions and capacity shortages.

The network includes more than 30 GDP-certified hubs and gateways. Routes are being expanded to Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America, with priority being given to markets such as India, Singapore, Japan, South Korea and Brazil.
