Anna Theander, head of the accident investigation team at Volvo Group Trucks Technology, has received the 36th European Commercial Vehicle Safety Award from Dekra, with support from the European Vehicle Research and Analysis Association (EVU) and the German Road Safety Council (DVR). “Anna Theander has made an essential contribution to the realization of Vision Zero,” said the chairman of the EVU board of directors, Professor Michael Weyde. “Her experience in the field of sensors for distance measurement and object detection, and their application in advanced driver assistance systems, has contributed to making trucks significantly safer. Combined with her extensive experience in real accident analysis, this expertise makes her a fully-fledged expert.” The team led by Anna Theander (Accident Research Team) investigates road accidents involving a truck and analyzes accident statistics in Europe, helping to guide Volvo Group engineers towards the most effective safety systems.
