Colruyt Group opens second distribution center in Ollignies

Must read

In the presence of numerous political dignitaries, Colruyt Group has inaugurated its new distribution center on the Ollignies site. This logistics hub is intended for the non-food assortment of the Colruyt Meilleurs Prix and Okay chains.

In Ollignies, Colruyt Group already has a warehouse for products with a high throughput rate.

The new warehouse is largely automated. Robots are used for stock management and picking products. “By automating repetitive and physical tasks, employees can concentrate on tasks with higher added value and on quality control,” explains Stefan Goethaert, CEO of Colruyt Group. As usual today, Ollignies 2 has a small ecological footprint: there are 5200 solar panels that produce more than 2.6 million kWh per year, while intelligent LED lighting and 53 umbrella organizations that naturally let in reduce the energy consumption of the site. Finally, Colruyt Group, in addition to the hydrogen station that is already present on the site, will install a new fast -charging complex with a total power of 1 MW, where six trucks can be charged at the same time.
