The market for collaborative robots is set to rebound this year following a trough in 2024, according to the latest market outlook report from researcher Interact Analysis.
The company’s Collaborative Robot Market-2025 report forecasts a 20% compound annual growth rate between 2025 and 2029, following a cyclical low last year.
Collaborative robots, or cobots, work alongside human workers in a shared space.
Material handling and assembly applications accounted for more than 50% of global cobot revenue in 2024, according to the report. The market bottomed out in 2024 as manufacturing demand waned, with growth dipping 13.8% following a fall of 14.3% in 2023.
But conditions are looking up, thanks in large part to demand from logistics businesses.
“In 2025 to 2026, we forecast the market will enter a period of acceleration,” the report’s authors wrote. “Shipment growth for 2025 is projected to rebound to 20.6%, propelled by demand from the semiconductor and logistics sectors, along with the recovery of the electronics segment in the second half of the year. By 2026, the market will peak, as pent-up demand for industrial upgrades meets with the emergence of new application scenarios, such as high-payload logistics, agriculture, and healthcare.”
Other emerging markets include the restaurant/service industry, which accounted for nearly 18% of market growth in 2024, according to the report.
