Coccinelle, a Belgian specialist in sourcing, ripening, packaging and distributing fresh fruit and vegetables, is investing in 15 new Scania diesel tractors and testing an electric Scania truck. This order is part of a broader order of 35 vehicles for the Coccinelle | Van Lier group.
The company from Sint-Katelijne-Waver supplies fresh products every day to major supermarket chains in Belgium. In addition to import and distribution, Coccinelle also has an ultra-modern ripening facility where avocados, mangoes and up to 100,000 boxes of bananas are ripened per week.
Coccinelle has been working exclusively with Scania for some time. According to managing director Nicolas Vanderborght (photo), in addition to the reliability of the vehicles, the proximity of the service network also plays an important role. “We work with fresh products, so reliability is essential. Scania offers both quality and a partner we can count on.”
