The Coats Company has released its upgraded Alignment Check and Bodyguard Module, now available in Evo and Plus models. The Coats alignment and body inspection system combines touchless alignment measurements and high-resolution body imaging to streamline vehicle intake.
The Evo model replaces the older standalone Alignment Check system. It offers a compact, cost-effective solution for high-volume shops and integrates Bodyguard features. The Plus model builds on the Evo with full 360-degree high-resolution body damage imaging.
“This upgrade is all about giving shops more capability in less space,” said Kyle Harris, Senior Product Manager at Coats. “Whether you’re a dealership or a quick service lane, Evo and Plus help you work faster and smarter – delivering actionable results that service advisors and customers can trust.”
Digital Drive-Through with Coats Alignment and Body Inspection
Shops can pair the systems with the Coats Tread Depth Scanner to build a fully automated, drive-through inspection lane. This setup allows teams to check tread depth, alignment, and body damage—all without stopping the vehicle.
“This is an industry first in terms of capability and compactness,” said Kevin Keefe, Director of Marketing at Coats. “The Evo and Plus models deliver high-value diagnostics and reporting with a small footprint, giving shops the tools they need to improve workflow and generate new service opportunities.”
Bodyguard Module
The Bodyguard module, included in both Evo and Plus, uses HD cameras and smart-motion capture to record vehicle condition at check-in. It protects dealerships and service centers by creating time-stamped, VIN-linked image records that help prevent fraudulent damage claims.
“Bodyguard has become essential in today’s dealership environment,” said Harris. “It creates a digital trail that protects both the shop and the customer, eliminating finger-pointing and giving service advisors peace of mind.”
Dealers can install Bodyguard outside service lanes to pinpoint where damage occurred more precisely.
