Following our preview at the end of 2025, here is our complete interview with CAM/MobileITApps director, Steve Daly, who is primarily known for products such as e-jobsheet and Fitter-Force. Tyres are often underestimated in terms of technology. First off, manufacturing: it’s not uncommon for non-specialists to assume rubber is just poured into a mould and tyres pop out the other end. Of course, that nowhere near reality and the hundreds of separate components and input materials involved are leagues above that notion. However, the tyre business in general as well as the truck tyre business in particular are similarly underestimated in terms of technology. The fact is that that stocking, distributing and servicing tyres to professional fleets up and down the country has never been a more technical operation than it is today – and even the tyres themselves are increasingly being manufactured with chips built-in, not to mention TPMS and telematics data. As a result, tyre businesses are implementing end-to-end integration of their processes to optimise and enhance their operations from tyre check and fleet maintenance to ongoing fleet management to delegation of fleet work to distribution and warehousing – all so they can offer the most professional service possible.Â
