Centropneus SRL announced a recall of certain Michelin CrossClimate 2 tires, size 255/60R18 112V XL, due to the absence of the DOT certification symbol on the tire sidewalls. These tires do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 139, “New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles.” The lack of a DOT symbol may lead to inappropriate use, increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will replace the tires at no cost. Centropneus said it expects to mail owner notification letters on Aug. 15. Owners can contact Centropneus’ customer service at 1-800-933-2537.
