Bridgestone Launches Firestone FS592 Steer Tire for Long-Haul, Regional Fleets

Must read

Bridgestone Americas has introduced the Firestone FS592 steer tire for long-haul and regional trucking fleets. The new “set-it-and-forget-it” workhorse tire adds an extra 32nd of tread depth and a wider footprint to deliver more removal miles than its predecessor while maintaining a durable, proven tread pattern, Bridgestone said

The FS592 comes in four sizes, is EPA SmartWay certified, and features Bridgestone’s ENLITEN technology.

Firestone FS592 Steer Tire Technology

“Bridgestone’s next-generation ENLITEN technology unlocks greater levels of performance, along with an enhanced focus on sustainability. This enables us to make Firestone’s best tire even better,” said Steve Hoeft, president, commercial truck group, Bridgestone Americas. “We’ve improved several aspects while staying true to the foundation of its predecessor, the FS591. The FS592 tire is a testament to Bridgestone’s commitment to developing innovative products and advancing mobility, even when it means reimagining a proven formula.”

The Firestone FS592 steer tire will replace the FS591. Bridgestone said it builds on that with increased removal mileage, an ultra-durable casing, and improved wear balance.

Life and Durability

  • Removal mileage: With 17% longer life, about 18,000 additional miles, the FS592 helps fleets reduce downtime and replacement costs, Bridgestone said.
  • Durable casing: The tire’s ENLITEN construction improves retreadability and rolling resistance while boosting overall durability.
  • Tread design: Defense grooves and an optimized shoulder rib enhance wear balance and help resist tearing. Five ribs in the tread design promote even wear across multiple applications.
