Bridgestone Retail Operations, a subsidiary of Bridgestone Americas, is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Bridgestone Driving Great Futures partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Since 2015, the initiative has raised nearly $30 million to support out-of-school programming.
The celebration began with a block party at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee’s Andrew Jackson Clubhouse in Nashville. Bridgestone donated a new passenger van and a $100,000 unrestricted operations grant. Former NFL MVP Cam Newton joined Bridgestone leaders, Boys & Girls Clubs of America CEO Jim Clark, and local officials to connect with Club youth.
Upcoming Bridgestone Driving Great Futures Activities
Bridgestone will donate 10 passenger vans to Clubs nationwide and expand its Car Care Academy program. Bridgestone stores will also promote the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s “America Needs Club Kids” campaign.
“When we began our partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America 10 years ago, we could have never imagined the generosity it would inspire, or the number of lives it would impact,” said Marko Ibrahim, President of Bridgestone Retail Operations. “Boys & Girls Clubs provide enrichment opportunities and environments that can shape bright futures. We are grateful for the contributions of our customers and the commitment of our teammates over the past decade.”
Bridgestone Driving Great Futures has collected donations at over 2,200 retail stores, the company said. It has awarded more than 450 grants for transportation and technology needs to enhance youth programming.
