The Court of Commerce in Hasselt pronounced the bankruptcy of the Bongaerts Logistics company on Wednesday 27 August. This former family business was taken over in March 2008 by a Turkish entrepreneur, Turan Orhan, who was previously general manager of Dalga Trans. The first years were promising, so much so that Turan Orhan received the prize from entrepreneurial new Limburger from Unizo and the province of Limburg in 2011. The weak point of the company, however, was the too low capitalization: after a few financial years in the red, equity had become negative and despite a recapitalization in 2023 and a contraction of the fleet, the situation did not improve. Bongaerts Logistics employed around twenty people and had a fleet of 16 vehicles.
