Black Star enters ‘safeguarding procedure’, buyers sought

Black Star, the French car tyre retreading company owned by Mobivia – which owns well-known garage chains Norauto and Midas and took over the former Bridgestone Béthune tyre plant – has entered “Procédure de sauvegarde” (safeguarding procedure) under the auspices of the Commercial Court of Arras. The ruling, which was made at the end of January 2026, opens up an observation period during which the company, supported by its majority shareholder Mobivia, will seek new industrial partners or buyers to avoid definitive collapse.
