Recently, Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC surpassed 200,000 registered users on its online brake school Brake-School.com. The platform offers more than 100 free courses and customized educational plans for fleets and industry organizations, and has been in place since 2013.

“Reaching a wide range of industry professionals with expert education that fits their schedules is the purpose of Brake-School.com,” said TJ Thomas, Bendix Director of Marketing and Customer Solutions. “Knowledge sharing and access to updated technical information are key components of fleet, vehicle, and highway safety.”

Course Offerings

Through Brake-School.com, users can access courses covering braking and active vehicle safety systems. The curriculum, developed by Bendix, includes:

  • Air disc brakes
  • Air dryers
  • Bendix ACom PRO and ACom AE diagnostic tools
  • Compressors
  • Electronic safety systems: side object detection, lane departure warning, tire pressure monitoring, stability control, and Bendix Wingman and Fusion collision mitigation technologies
  • Foundation drum brakes
  • Slack adjusters
  • Trailer safety systems
  • Valves

Courses address product features, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and maintenance best practices, with a focus on highway safety and Reduced Stopping Distance (RSD).

Customized Education Programs

Bendix says it offers customized programs based on customer needs, allowing companies to monitor employee progress through Bendix Online Brake School. Education sessions can be conducted remotely.

“One size doesn’t fit all—every trucking company can have specific education needs,” Thomas said. The curriculum reflects direct customer requests and insights from Bendix’s sales and marketing team.
