The German group Krone, which is active in both agricultural machinery and transport equipment, experienced the consequences of a generally gloomy economic situation in Europe in 2024/2025. Turnover fell by approximately 4% to approximately 2.3 billion euros.
“In the commercial vehicle sector, customer purchasing behavior has been directly and short-term linked to the general economic situation for many years. We are now also increasingly seeing this behavior in the agricultural machinery segment,” said Bernard Krone, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Krone Group. In this context, Krone has continued to invest in optimizing production, in particular by digitalizing and automating processes. A new production line has also been put into use in Werlte for the construction of semi-trailers with electric drive axles.
For the current financial year, Krone expects turnover to remain at last year’s level, but nevertheless foresees a recovery of the market in the medium term, especially in the field of trailers and semi-trailers. “We are seeing a recovery in certain European markets, such as Belgium, Denmark and Estonia,” explains CEO Dr. David Frink out.
