Cookeville, Tenn.-based freight transportation and logistics services provider Averitt Express recently announced that Irwindale, Calif.-based privately-held, asset-based less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier Best Overnite Express has officially been added to its network of vetted partner carriers based throughout North America, with a focus on enhancing service coverage and transit times for customers shipping to and from the West Coast.
Averitt officials explained that this network is driven by what it called the company’s longstanding approach to delivering consistent, high-quality service through a network of vetted carriers, with each carrier partner selection based on shared values, operational excellence, and a commitment to delivering an elevated customer experience. With the addition of Best Overnite Express, Averitt explained that it can now offer up expanded direct LTL service into various key markets in California, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona through Best Overnite’s regional network, coupled with Best Overnite customers seeing benefits from Averitt’s South and Southeastern network.
Other LTL carriers in Averitt’s network of vetted partner carriers include: Cross Country Freight Solutions; Dohrn Transfer; Peninsula Truck Lines; PITT OHIO; Polaris Transportation; Rosenau Transport; Ross Express; and a trio of “other partner carriers,” including Lynden Transport, Honolulu Freight Service; abd PAV Express.
In an interview with LM, Averitt VP of Sales and Marketing Kent Williams said that Averitt is committed to delivering consistent, on-time service across its entire network—both in its direct service area and through its trusted partners.
“To ensure that same level of service in key western states such as California, Arizona, Nevada, and Utah, we determined that partnering with Best Overnite Express was the ideal solution,” said Williams.
And he added that Averitt has maintained a longstanding professional relationship with the leadership team at Best Overnite Express, with its formal partnership beginning in April 2025 and building on years of mutual respect and alignment in service standards.
“This partnership enhances service reliability and transit visibility for our customers by seamlessly connecting Averitt’s direct service area with Best Overnite’s expertise in the western U.S.” he said. “It ensures consistent, on-time LTL service between our networks.”
When asked if Averitt plans to expand its network with additional West Coast-based partner carriers, Williams said that Averitt already provides comprehensive LTL coverage across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico through a combination of direct service and carefully vetted partner carriers.
“We continuously evaluate our network to ensure it meets the evolving needs of our customers—but with this partnership, we’re well-positioned to deliver seamless service nationwide,” he said.
