AutoBild has released the qualifying results for its 2026 summer tyre test. As in previous years, 20 tyres were selected from a field of 50 based on braking performance in wet conditions (from 80 km/h) and dry conditions (from 100 km/h). Only tyres delivering short, consistent stopping distances progress to the full test; those with insufficient performance are excluded. The complete evaluation of the 20 finalists will appear in issue 10/2026, to be published on 5 March. The finalists, tested in size 245/45 R19, will be assessed on a BMW 5 Series. Early measurements reportedly show “clear trends”.
