With this strategic step, Yusen Logistics significantly expands its specialized logistics offering for the healthcare sector. The integrated activities now form the Yusen Logistics Healthcare network, which offers end-to-end solutions for pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices and diagnostics. The offering ranges from international forwarding and warehousing to temperature-controlled transport, last-mile delivery, control tower services and digital solutions. By combining specialized expertise and a global network, the group aims to set new standards in terms of quality, reliability and innovation within the supply chain.

The acquisition fits within Yusen Logistics’ growth strategy and is in line with the medium-term plan for the period 2026-2028, which focuses on targeted investments in fast-growing sectors such as healthcare logistics. The aim is to continue developing resilient, compliant and sustainable logistics solutions worldwide for a sector where reliability and product safety are crucial.

Yusen Logistics will also significantly strengthen its position in Belgium. The Japanese group already has logistics sites in Melsele (65,000 m²), Gembloux (52,500 m²), Herentals (10,500 m²) and Machelen (2,400 m²). Walden, in turn, has a branch in Erembodegem (38,000 m²), La Louvière (10,600 m²), Machelen (2,400 m²) and the three Ivemar branches, for a total of 3,800 m². In total, the logistics area of Yusen Logistics in Belgium will amount to 185,000 m². The group will employ more than 500 people in our country (but this figure must be put into perspective, as Yusen Logistics Belgium does not publish a balance sheet).
