DP World will change the access conditions for its container terminals in the port of Antwerp from 1 January 2026. According to the operator, these measures are intended to better distribute freight traffic in and around the terminals and support carriers’ environmental efforts.
The first measure has consequences for everyone: an increase of six euros in the ‘dispersion surcharge’, the surcharge that a truck pays to gain access to the terminal during peak hours, between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. This surcharge increases from 14 to 20 euros. The second measure responds to a request from DFDS Logistics, among others, and exempts electric trucks from this surcharge, regardless of the time of day.
