Seegrid names Baker to replace Pajer as CEO

Must read

The autonomous vehicle maker Seegrid Corp. today said it had named a new CEO, picking 25-year industry veteran Chris Baker to replace former chief Joe Pajer after his retirement.

Although he’s stepping away from the corner office, Pajer is not leaving Seegrid entirely—he will take on a role as an advisor to the company’s Board of Directors, ensuring continuity and ongoing support for the organization’s long-term vision, the company said.

Baker will be charged with positioning Seegrid for its next phase of accelerated innovation and growth, and aligning with its mission to deliver reliable, scalable autonomous solutions that transform industrial productivity and safety.

He comes to the new job from executive, business development, product management, and engineering roles at companies including New Eagle, Hexagon AB, MSC Software, and Ford Motor Company. Most recently, he served as CEO of New Eagle, a private-equity-backed embedded systems leader specializing in software solutions for electrification and autonomy.

“Seegrid is defining the future of autonomous vehicle technology in material handling, and I am honored to join the team at such a pivotal time,” Baker said in a release. “The company has a proven record of innovation and customer success. I look forward to working alongside this extremely talented team and its industry partners to continue advancing solutions that deliver measurable impact for our customers while strengthening Seegrid’s leadership in the market.”
