Sany is preparing arrival of electric tractors to Europe

Must read

The Chinese manufacturer Sany, originally specialized in cranes, has been selling electric concrete mixers for several months in collaboration with the German specialist Putzmeister, who took over Sany in 2012. The copy that was exhibited on Matexpo was equipped with a new cabin that will also be found on the E263 tractors who wants to bring Sany to the European market.

In 2024, Sany sold two four-axle Puzmeister concrete mixers in Belgium. “In total we have a few dozen vehicles in Europe, especially in Scandinavia, Iceland, Poland and France,” said Wim Depre, Regional Sales Director at Putzmeister. In comparison with the copy that was exhibited on the Matexpo Demo Days in September 2024, the vehicle in the field of the cabin has evolved. This cabin is shared with the three -axle concrete mixer and with a tractor that the Chinese manufacturer wants to bring to the European market in 2026. “This tractor has been approved in Europe, just like all our other machines. The only difference between this cabin and that of the tractor is the inside height: the tractor also gets a raised cabin,” continues Wim Depre.

The electric tractor of Sany has a drive shaft, just like the Mercedes-Benz Eactros 600 and the Iveco S-EWAY. The announced power is 420 kW. There are various battery packages available with a total capacity of 282 to 636 kWh. The maximum range of the vehicle would be 500 kilometers, which seems little considering the maximum capacity of the batteries. A consumption of 1.35 kWh per kilometer is mentioned on the Sanyy website, which is much higher than what European electric trucks get. The load capacity is a maximum of 800 kW.

With regard to sales and distribution, Sany will initially use the European network of Putzmeister. “So we are busy training the sellers who are familiar with our Heavy Duty gamma for the new road range. As far as maintenance is concerned, we have concluded an agreement with the Alltrucks network, which comprises 700 workshops throughout Europe. The Alltrucks workshops will perform all maintenance work that will not be related to a Putzmeisterstebouw will, the Nat by Putzmeister Alltrucks workshop are trained to work on the vehicle, including the high-voltage section, “concludes Wim Depre.
