Foresco opens new sustainable head office in Genk

Must read

Foresco, international producer of pallets and packaging solutions, has a new head office in Genk. The fully wooden building was designed by BBSC Architects and built in Cross Laminated Timber (CLT), a sustainable construction method that causes almost no construction waste. The solemn inauguration takes place on Saturday 27 September, in the presence of Mayor Wim Dries, CEO Jan Ponnet and plant manager Ronald van de Warenburg.

The new office offers workspace to around 35 employees and combines a warm, homely atmosphere with advanced techniques. The wooden structure is fully dismantled and recyclable, while heat pumps and solar panels are responsible for heating and cooling. The facade also received a sustainable finish with FSC-certified wood.

Replace asbestos roofs

The opening of the head office is part of a broader modernization of the site in Genk, where a total of 150 employees are active. In recent months, the halls have been renewed, asbestos roofs have been replaced, storage spaces extended and the infrastructure modernized with, among other things, charging points for electric cars, a greener environment and energy-efficient installations. This makes the location ready for a climate -friendly and innovative future.
