The French-Belgian pallet group PGS Group is expanding its European network with the opening of a strategic depot in Grays, just outside of London. The site, fully focused on second -hand pallets for LPR – La Palette Rouge, covers 16,000 m² and processes 80 to 90 trucks every day. With a team of 65 to 70 employees, around 2.8 million pallets are reconditioned annually, with a goal of 5 million.
In Grays, pallets are collected, sorted and treated to make them suitable for export. Non-conforming pallets are restored and then comply with the ISPM15 standard, which has been obliged since the Brexit for export from the UK to Europe.
The site uses infrastructure that was previously set up by LPR, on which PGS now continues to build with its own improvements and technologies. The location is the result of a tender won by LPR and is further optimized together. The link with the European network of PGS ensures a solid logistics reinforcement.
