ODTH and MOVU ROBOTICS Automate Warehouse in Rumst

Must read

ODTH First Class Logistics and Movu Robotics have completed the first phase of an ambitious automation project in the ODTH warehouse in Rumst. The collaboration transforms the traditional warehouse into a software-driven, High-Density Logistics Center with emphasis on safety, sustainability and efficiency.

Central to the solution is the MOVU Atlas system, a shuttle-based ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval System), combined with the first large-scale implementation of MOVU Ops, the Warehouse Execution Software Platform developed. This software was seamlessly integrated with the ODTH SAP ERP system and ensures intelligent pallet control, dynamic routing and efficient control of transport and shuttle systems.

The scale of the project is considerable: the warehouse will soon have more than 31,000 pallet places at 14,000 m², with 20 autonomous shuttles that can perform up to 6,000 pallet movements per day via four levels and five lifts. The phased approach allows the operations to continue 24/7, without an impact on services.

An important sustainability aspect is the reuse of the existing position infrastructure, good for saving more than 680 tonnes of COâ‚‚ emissions. Moreover, the system can be used flexibly for various pallet types, so that ODTH can serve a wide customer base.

The following phases of the project will be rolled out in September 2025 and the first quarter of 2026.
