In warehouses, on yards and other sites, the risk of collisions between vehicles, pedestrians and infrastructure is constantly present. Lopos, a Belgian technology company with global activities, developed an innovative solution based on Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology.
This technology continuously measures the distance between vehicles, people and obstacles, with accuracy of up to 25 cm and a range of 30 m – also in environments with a lot of metal and no or bad network. The system, integrated in a compact beacon that is attached to vehicles, works with different signals: with an approaching vehicle, a light or sound signal can warn the driver. If necessary, the beacon can also automatically limit the speed of the forklift truck – to snail mode. The result is a flexible safety system that adapts to the situation without hindering productivity.
Each installation is personalized after an analysis of traffic flows and risks. The parameters are tailored to the specific needs of the site, which results in a quick payback time thanks to avoids accidents and damage.
At the Transport & Logistics Antwerp 2025 stock exchange, Lopos also proposes additional modules for personal detection, via wearables And AI cameras, for even more safety. Live demonstrations can be seen on position 4240.
