Xwift takes over transport Vercauteren

Must read

Xwift has taken over transport company Vercauteren from Lokeren. It is the twelfth external growth operation for the Nazareth company in three years.

Transport Vercauteren was kept above the baptismal font by André Vercauteren in 1974 and has 25 employees. The current managers have no follow -up within the company and were looking for a solution to secure the future of the long -term family business. “Vercauteren has been a reliable player in Dedicated Transport for years, with the additional trump of logistics services such as re -packaging and relaxing. The decision to take over comes after years of successful collaboration between both parties, including a previously taken over transport company,” explains CEO Pieter Denys. “Thanks to the proximity of Topklant Volvo Trucks and the synergy with the former Flinstone, the collaboration will be even closer. For example, empty kilometers will be reduced by an integrated approach. This extra service means a valuable expansion of the supply within the XWIFT group.”

The Transport Vercauteren team is moving to the Xwift site in Desteldonk. Bart Vercauteren, one of the three managers, will remain active for a few months after the takeover. After the acquisition, Xwift has around 1,000 employees, has 825 pulling vehicles and achieves a consolidated turnover of around 135 million euros.
