FAST Group will target e-commerce shipping sector

Must read

Three logistics firms this week said they had merged into a single unit to meet the shipping needs of businesses of all sizes, as FirstMile, ACI Logistix, and Sendle will now operate under the unified leadership of FAST Group, a Philippines-based private equity firm.

While FAST Group will be headquartered in California, the three carriers will continue to operate under their established brands, all while functioning as an integrated logistics ecosystem, the firms said. The merger was backed by funds from Federation Asset Management, an Australian investment firm.

According to the partners, FAST Group will serve a spectrum of e-commerce shipping, supporting businesses ranging from direct-to-consumer brands to international enterprises. More specifically:

  • FirstMile, a mid-market business specialist, will scale its national parcel pickup infrastructure across the integrated group, broadening reach and improving service for all.
  • ACI Logistix will offer infrastructure, automation, and sortation facilities, and diverse delivery capabilities.
  • Sendle, which provides parcel delivery services for small businesses across the U.S., Australia, and Canada, brings scale, technology, and customer support to the group.

ACI Logistix CEO Keith Somers will oversee the FAST Group as CEO. “By combining our capabilities under FAST Group, we’re creating a complete and powerful logistics ecosystem that can support customers through their entire growth path, as they adapt and compete in an ever-evolving e-commerce landscape,” he said.

“This strategic merger, backed by Federation Asset Management, will bring added benefits for customers across all segments – SMB, mid-market and enterprise – through improved first mile pick ups, faster and complete national distribution, and integrated customer support,” Somers said.
