Authorities in Thailand have reportedly ordered the closure of the Prinx Chengshan tyre plant in Chon Buri province. According to national newspaper Matichon, the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) issued an instruction to shut down Prinx Chengshan Tire (Thailand) Co., Ltd as the factory was allegedly producing tyres without proper Thai Industrial Standards (TIS) certification. The IEAT also accuses the plant of altering production dates and removing brand markings from tyre sidewalls, as well as violating waste disposal regulations.
