NEXEN N’FERA Supreme S Chosen For Hyundai NEXO

Must read

NEXEN Tire announced that its N’FERA Supreme S has been chosen as original equipment (OE) for Hyundai Motor Company’s next-generation hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle, the all-new NEXO.

This marks the first full model change for the NEXO in seven years. The updated model features an upgraded hydrogen powertrain with a driving range exceeding 700 kilometers (approx. 430 miles) per charge, a quieter ride, and a design that prioritizes sustainability. The NEXEN N’FERA Supreme S was selected to optimize noise reduction, high load capacity, and driving stability, Hyundai said.

Tailored Performance

The tire includes an AI-enhanced load distribution structure and high-rigidity sidewalls, NEXEN said. These features ensure a stable grip and reliable steering and are key factors for the heavy-load layout of the new NEXO.

Additionally, its “Level Keeping Technology” maintains consistent tire performance even after 50% tread wear. This supports long-term handling and safety for hydrogen SUV drivers, according to NEXEN.

The aerodynamic tread design helps reduce both air drag and rolling resistance. NEXEN said this improves fuel economy and supports strong braking and high-speed handling.

To complement the quiet nature of the hydrogen drivetrain, the tire includes noise-reduction technologies such as the Noise Reduction System (NRS). This system uses sound-absorbing material inside the tire cavity to lower in-vehicle noise. AI-based tread pattern optimization, developed through big data analysis, further reduces road noise under varying conditions, NEXEN said.

Global OE Partnerships Drive Future Mobility

NEXEN Tire said it continues to expand its presence in the global original equipment market. By developing tire solutions for electric, hydrogen, and internal combustion vehicles, NEXEN Tire said it is meeting the changing demands of the mobility industry.

“This latest supply agreement highlights NEXEN TIRE’s technological leadership in the next generation of eco-friendly mobility,” said John Bosco (Hyeon Suk) Kim, CEO of NEXEN TIRE. ”We will continue to broaden our global OE partnerships by delivering optimized tire solutions for all powertrains.”
