Waterloo, Ontario-based Descartes, a provider of logistics based on-demand, software-as-a-service offerings, has rolled out FraudGuard 2.0, an updated tool to help shippers, freight brokers, and third-party logistics companies catch fraud and cargo theft. The new version introduces features to verify carriers and drivers before tenders, pickups, and during shipments.
The tool uses past and live shipment data to verify the authenticity and reliability of carriers and drivers. It tracks 16 shipment details to catch signs of fraud, double brokering, or suspicious moves.
One feature allows users to look up carriers or drivers by Department of Transportation number or phone number to view their history. The tool also warns about suspicious carriers or drivers and watches for things like fake GPS signals or drivers going off route.
